I originally purchased the 500mg Transmax version and really felt a difference in my energy and attitude about life and had reordered it once. When it was time to reorder again, I saw that this 250mg (made by the same company) was on sale and buying 2 bottles of this was cheaper than one of the 500mg, so I decided to buy it, start with 1 pill, and if it didn't work as well, I could increase to 2 pills and have the same thing. I bought the product primarily for long term health benefits, but I am very happy to report there have been some very noticeable benefits as well. A few weeks after starting to take the product I started noticing that I didnt have the need to drink coffee nearly as often. This is the real deal on quality and price for 2 reasons:

(1) Quality: This is one of only 2 brands of resveratrol that my local well-known national health food grocery chain carries. That gives a comfort level, informing me that this brand of resveratrol has been vetted by savvy buyers. The other one they carry on their shelf next to this one contains other healthful ingredients but I would not buy it because it does not say explicitly how much resveratrol is in a tablet. All brands list MG per tablet, but look carefully to see if they're claiming those MG are all resveratrol or a combination of things that merely include resveratrol. Here you will find that some brands are tricky, placing that word "resveratrol" in large print and then giving an MG number that is not total resveratrol. Pretty tricky, right? Source Naturals (the subject of this review) tells you specifically how many MG of resveratrol is in a tablet - 40 MG. To see what I mean, enlarge the picture of this product and you will see how Source Naturals explicitly states "40 MG TOTAL RESVERATROLS."

(2) Price: The price at my local store amounts to just over 33 cents per tablet for this product. Here you are paying substantially less per tablet. Further, I bought this product at my local store as mentioned above well over a year ago, and the price was the same then as it is now. I only bought this product from that store that one time, waiting ever since in vain for the price to come down. I've now accepted that the price is not likely to come down. In fact, much of the time they temporarily sold out of this product. I now believe that resveratrol is not a faddish product and therefore won't plunge in price. If anything, it is getting more popular. I've even seen reports that resveratrol consumers tend to stick with it over a long period of time. I don't know what the lowest possible price is per 40 MG tablet, because one can never predict how demand will affect price at any given time. One has to take the current price and divide it by the number of 40 MG tablets to know the price per tablet.

My conclusion is that we can trust this product and know we're buying resveratrol and nothing else, and that the price is fair.

the packaging has changed but the "Source Naturals" "Resveratrol" I received has 159 mgs of Calcium, 10 mg of sodium, and only 20mg of Resveratrol. I feel this was deceptively advertised. If I wanted Calcium I would have bought a Calcium supplement. The Labeling should be Calcium (the main ingredient) not Resveratrol.

Only 37.5 MG of Reveratrol in each Vcap. Good price. but this product's listing failed to state this important fact. Does it stop aging? Scientists recently showed that if you fed resveratrol to obese mice eating a high-fat diet, they'd stay as healthy and spry -- the resveratrol dose the mice got was 4.9 milligrams/kilogram of body weight -- which would make the equivalent human dose 350 milligrams, for an average-sized person -- or 35 bottles of wine a day. What, if anything, Reveratrol will do for humans, is anybody's guess.

I have used this product for 3 months now. I have taken two capsules a day. It is very tough to gauge a supplement's effectiveness. Especially if one has also been on a rigorous exercise plan in the past 5 months.

Five months ago, I was 30 pounds overweight. After exercising (cardio, yoga, weight training) for about 8 hours per week in the past 20 weeks, I have lost 18 pounds. I have also been a diet (not a very strict one but a painful one nonetheless).

Overall, I can't say I have noticed any improvements on my health other than from my workouts. In fact, I must say I am showing less improvements from my workouts than when I was younger (I am in my mid-30s). This is natural because my hormone levels are not what it used to be.

What I can say is this supplment is NOT a miracle supplment. It will not make you immune from diseases, aches, or inflamation. It may reduce the content of your body fat (French Paradox), but it is hard to say since my body fat loss has not been great (merely decent).

Several research on Reservatrol (contained in red wines) on humans are under way. Many are skeptical of its effectiveness of the human body since a LOT of reservatrol (much more than two capsules of this supplement) should be needed to see any improvement.

This product has 100 mg per capsule, and of that only 10 mg is what you are looking for when shopping for resveratrol. I took it for ten days without noticing any difference, then went back to read my research again, which recommends at least 150 mg of TRANS-resveratrol per day to realize any benefit. After doubling the dose, I still did not see or feel any difference. It is probably better than NOT taking any, but the magical results did not happen with this product.

The first week I took this I felt very energetic. I'm not as hyper now, but I still feel like I have more energy than I used to. I've been taking the resveratrol forte for about two weeks now and have noticed a big increase in my energy levels. Over all I feel better and quite a bit less tired than before. I started out taking a lower dosage for the first week, because of the stories of some people having side effects with higher dosage. But after the first week with no problems, I increased my dosage to two capsules a day and that's when I noticed an increase in energy.

Each capsule contains 125 mg. of trans-resveratrol, in order for a resveratrol to be effective it needs to contain trans-resveratrol.

I started taking this product may of 2009 with much skepticism, the first day I was on it I noticed a decrease in my appetite. The second day I still had the decrease in appetite and also an increase in energy. I decided to take advantage of the increase in energy and started riding my mountain bike several miles a day and felt great not winded and no sore muscles even thought I was very out of shape. With the decrease in appetite I stopped eating as much, and had way more control to stop eating when I was full. I also stopped craving junk food and started eating healthier. I have lost a total of 50 lbs and went from wearing a size 14 jeans down to a size 6. I have also noticed that the hard to get rid of fat areas like around my tummy, thighs, butt and yes that dreaded hideous back bra fat are smooth and flat now. I get tons of compliments on my figure now and have not felt better in years.

I have not had any side effects from taking this product, and I continue to have lots of energy and a curbed appetite. I tried this product after doing much research on all the different brands and products on the market. It seemed a little pricey but it had great reviews so I opted to use this brand first. I took it for about 4-5 weeks until I ran out. I got great results... my skin felt smoother and healther and I noticed my appetite seemed to be curved and I started loosing some of those extra fatty pounds around my stomach and thighs. I ran out about 2 weeks ago and ordered a cheaper brand but I have noticed the difference in my energy, my skin & weight gain again so I am going back to this Brand. What ever they do to the resveratrol in it seems to be much better processed and works for me...so I am sticking to this brand.
